NCAA COMP: 11/15/25: JMU -21: You knew something was up when James Madison highlights in the win over Marshall last week were making network halftime studio highlight shows. The Dukes are this year’s mid-size darling, ranked 24th in the latest AP Poll, and thanks to Memphis losing last week, the Mad Men are in the CFP conversation. JMU likely hasn’t forgotten last year’s loss to App. State and the Mountaineers are down this season at 4-5/1-4 with a tough road to make a bowl game thanks to a three-game losing streak. Another headache is that the Mountaineers have only outgained one of their last six foes, while JMU is 7-2 ITS (In the Stats), and the two “losses” are by a combined six yards. HC Bob Chesney, in his second year there, has the Dukes 6-0 in the Sun Belt with a defense that has held four teams to season-low yardage. Since joining FBS, the MadMen are 15-3 SU, 11-7 ATS at home, including 2-0 SUATS in John Wick games, winning those by 25 and 28 points. QB Alonza Barnett III has 26 combined TDs this year, and the entire Playbook staff will demand a Congressional investigation if he’s not the Sun Belt Player of the Year. You may remember the fellow Chesney replaced…Curt Cignetti and Chesney’s recent success has landed him on some rumor lists, including those of Virginia Tech and Penn State.

NFL COMP 11/16/25

11/16: GMEN +7: Three blown leads this season, and Brian Daboll is out of a job. Yet another head coach in New York threw in the towel on Monday when Big Blue fi red Daboll. The former Buffalo Bills’ offensive coordinator was seen as an offensive innovator, but saw a quick decline after a promising first season. Mike Kafka will serve as the interim head coach. Daboll’s fi ring marks the fourth mid- or late-season ousting of a Giants head coach since 2016 (after Ben McAdoo, Pat Shurmur, and Joe Judge), highlighting the franchise’s instability – posting a combined 53-104-1 record (.338 winning percentage) since Tom Coughlin left in 2015. After a surprising 10-8-1 rookie season, the Giants went 9-25 in the final two full seasons under Daboll. Two words best describe the Giants’ effort behind him: sustained mediocrity. Interim head coach Mike Kafka was recently mentioned as a candidate for the head coaching job in Tennessee. On Monday night, Green Bay’s offense was a total disappointment, managing only 13 points at home against Carolina, adding to the ongoing curiosity about why the Packers have been so average. It’s also notable that on Monday night, the Packers suffered their third loss of the season when they held an opponent to 16 points or fewer points. It doesn’t help that QB Jordan Love hasn’t thrown a touchdown pass in his last 73 pass attempts. While interim head coaches rarely get the permanent job, those who do often have a short leash, as owners quickly second-guess their choices at the first sign of trouble. It’s good that Kafka has friends in high places in the NFL. The bottom line is, Green Bay is 1-9 ATS in games when both teams come off a nondivision matchup. We’ll see how the Giants respond to Kafka. You might be surprised.
